Residential Mold Remediation in Unfinished Basement, Hewitt, NJ

This family found what appeared to be mold located on their older home's unfinished basement walls and basement storage contents. They hired and IH, Industrial Hygienist, to take air samples and perform mold testing. Parts of the basement areas tested positive for aspergillus fungus mold due to previous moisture and storm ground water infiltration through the cinder block foundation walls and windows. This contaminate has been found to cause potential respiratory-type symptoms in persons exposed. After receiving the recommended mold remediation protocol, our crews were called in to fix the situation. The basement staircase needed to be sectioned off with plastic sheathing, the walls and floors were Hepa vacuumed and cleaned, the entire basement space was fogged with an anti-microbial agent, and several recommended coats of moisture mold resistant (UGL) Drylock paint was applied to the walls to prevent any future water or moisture infiltration from re-entering the area during extreme rain storms. In addition, the customer was also advised to have someone install basement window well covers, continue to use a basement dehumidifier, and repair one outside gutter drainage pipe, that was no longer working properly. After SERVPRO of Wayne's remediation work was completed the family could safely continue to use their unfinished basement storage, laundry, and workshop areas.
